Overview & Strategic Importance

• Inauguration: Formally inaugurated in October 2008, realizing the hospital's long-standing goal of housing a modern, integrated emergency and trauma care center under one roof.

• Benefactors & Support: Made possible through the philanthropy of Mr. Rudiger Braun (Germany) and the continued partnership of "Friends of Padhar, Germany."

• Critical Regional Lifeline: Serves as the only fully equipped, dedicated trauma and emergency center on the treacherous stretch of National Highway 69 (NH-69) connecting Bhopal and Nagpur, providing vital, life-saving stabilization and acute care for highway trauma victims.

Infrastructure & Clinical Facilities

• 10-Station Emergency Care Bay: Configured with dedicated resuscitation and treatment stations to manage individual critical crises and multiple casualty incidents simultaneously.

• Integrated Minor Operation Theatre (OT): Dedicated within the casualty complex for emergency suturing, wound debridement, fracture reduction/splinting, and immediate surgical stabilization.

• Advanced Life Support Equipment:

  • Multi-parameter cardiac and vital signs monitors

  • Invasive mechanical ventilators

  • Centralized medical oxygen and suction lines

  • Crash carts with emergency resuscitation drugs and defibrillators

Clinical Scope & Capabilities

The department provides round-the-clock emergency medical and surgical care, including:

• Polytrauma & Road Traffic Accidents (RTA): High-velocity highway crash injuries, severe blunt/penetrating abdominal and chest trauma, and complex head injuries.

• Cardiac Emergencies: Rapid triage and stabilization of acute myocardial infarction (heart attacks), hypertensive crises, and acute heart failure.

• Mass Casualties & Disaster Response: Protocolized surge capacity to triage and treat multiple incoming accident victims concurrently.

• Paediatric Emergencies: Rapid airway, breathing, and circulatory support tailored specifically for neonates, infants, and children.

• Acute Medical Crises: Acute respiratory failure, status epilepticus, cerebrovascular accidents (strokes), severe poisoning, and snake bites.

24/7 Staffing & Transport Services

• Multidisciplinary Trauma Team: Manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by competent medical officers, trauma-trained nurses, and emergency technicians under the direct leadership and clinical supervision of a Trauma Surgeon.

• 24/7 Ambulance Fleet: Round-the-clock emergency patient transport and highway retrieval services.
